Other than the "What does IA mean?" discussion, "Why can't everyone just
get along?" is the most tedious topic on this list.

I'm a sample of the generally silent majority (or minority) on this list - I
have no trouble separating what interests me from what doesn't (to David
Heller's point). I'm from a background that prizes intelligent discussion
that thrives on sharp disagreement, and in fact believes disagreement is key
to understanding. (Don't make me say "dialectic.")

The idea of someone being muzzled is repugnant. Frequently the sharpest
exchanges offer the most meaning - and the most humor. Blandness is boring.
(Among other things, Ziya is a consummate stylist... despite the Horatian
epigraphs.)
