However, the Summit is just three days once a year.

This list runs year round and is open to anyone. And while there are
other forums, this is the only public forum that emphasizes core IA
principles over, for example, usabiliy or interaction design.

I agree that there are alternatives and that things like the Summit
work well. Jesse would too.

But that hardly excuses what often happens here...
