Once, during a 9+ hour flight from Copenhagen, Denmark to Seattle,
WA, the fellow sitting next to me kept himself busy coordinating
contact data between his Palm and his laptop. Except for during the
meal, he kept this up almost the entire time.
This got me thinking – and observing. When I started to look for it,
I was surprised to find that this fellow’s behavior was far from
unique. People love to create and then play with their own metadata.
It’s a great form of entertainment, disguised as something that seems
vaguely useful.
This may explain the growing popularity of other sites like LinkedIn
and Classmates.com, in addition to Delicious Library.
